Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

Autodesk AutoCAD version history
AutoCAD is available on both the Windows and macOS operating systems, as well as for some mobile operating systems, including iOS and Android.
Autodesk AutoCAD programs allow architects, engineers, drafters, and other users to create and edit 2D and 3D drawings. In addition to basic drafting tools such as lines, arcs, and circles, AutoCAD provides many other standard and custom features. Some of these include the ability to draw and edit polylines, splines, and Bézier curves; create hatch patterns; render surfaces; and run complex solids and surface creation programs. Users can also use the popular parametric modeling tools and other built-in features to specify shapes and perform calculations.
The standard interface has existed since the early 1980s, with subsequent releases adding new features and refining the user interface. The application was a commercial product for over 20 years, until Autodesk launched a free iPad version of AutoCAD in 2013.
Since then, Autodesk has released many revisions of AutoCAD to accommodate new hardware features and the growing population of people using CAD software.
AutoCAD full release history
AutoCAD and SketchUp are the two most widely used computer-aided design (CAD) and modeling software applications today. The names “AutoCAD” and “SketchUp” were coined in 1982 by Arup Associates, where Mark Weingart worked, and Bill Baker. They were intended to be catch-all names, as Autodesk was considering naming the applications “AutoDraw” and “AutoDraw Structural”, respectively. However, it turned out that the name “AutoCAD” had been used for a competing application that was released several months before the application Autodesk intended to release.
This article provides a chronological list of AutoCAD releases, starting from the first release and ending with the most recent release. AutoCAD releases after AutoCAD 2004 are still supported as patches and updates, although there are no new official features after 2016.
1981 – 1984: The early years
Autodesk introduced AutoCAD in 1982, and released a small version for the Apple II personal computer in 1983. It was the first CAD program to include built-in full-feature 2D drafting and 2D and 3D modeling.
By 1984, the 2D Drafting Edition of AutoCAD had been

Autodesk’s Sketchbook is a drawing application with a visual interface for editing AutoCAD drawings. SketchBook is a C++ class library, which is also the base for Autodesk DWG Viewer, a web-based, open-source Web viewer for Autodesk DWG files.
Code.dll is a programmable and cross-platform C++ library for applications using AutoCAD, which is mainly a set of classes for viewing, creating, modifying, automating, and scripting the CAD objects. AutoCAD 2016 ships with the Code.dll library by default. The Code.dll can be used to access and modify the native Windows API (Win32), the Windows API (Win64) or the Windows API in a cross-platform way.
AutoCAD’s VC++ runtime is a C++ library that simplifies the development of application components. It runs on Windows and many other operating systems. It supports 32-bit and 64-bit, static or dynamic linking, and mixed-mode (statically linked 64-bit code calling 32-bit functions), as well as debugging and profiling features.
The AutoCAD API is a set of C++ classes that is available to developers on Windows XP and above, on all of the Mac operating systems (from OS X 10.0 onward), and on Linux. It is available for use in cross-platform applications, even if they are not based on AutoCAD.
The AutoCAD viewer program (called AutoCAD DXF Viewer, AutoCAD DWG Viewer, AutoCAD Java Viewer, or AutoCAD Viewer on macOS) was originally based on the Code.dll library for simple viewing of native CAD files. In 2006, AutoCAD released AutoCAD Viewer, which was a free product that was capable of viewing most native AutoCAD formats such as DXF, DWG, DWF, and IGES.
AutoCAD Viewer 8 for Mac replaced Code.dll with the new Visual Studio-based libraries for OS X. As of the latest version, AutoCAD Viewer for Mac supports Mac OS X 10.6 and above, and AutoCAD 2010, 2013 and 2015.
In May 2014, Autodesk announced that it will discontinue its AutoCAD Viewer for Mac, and replace it with a free upgrade to Autodesk 3ds Max 2016.
In August 2016, Autodes

The present invention is generally directed to medical treatment and, more specifically, to a system and method for stabilizing the vertebrae in the cervical spine.
Vertebrae of the human spinal column are held together by soft ligaments and very few muscles, making it a relatively easily manipulated system. The ligaments and muscles, however, are also relatively weak and, particularly in an injured state, can be easily compromised. For example, in the treatment of cervical injuries, the spine is positioned so that the head is on a table and the neck is raised, using a chin rest, to provide a position of flexion while the cervical spine is stabilized. This position is not possible for all patients, and, in particular, patients suffering from cervical injuries.
The muscles and ligaments surrounding the vertebrae of the cervical spine, particularly in the head region, are inherently weak and easily subjected to strain from forces associated with positioning on the table. Conventional treatment methods may employ metal rods and screws secured to the vertebrae. Such treatments often lead to longer hospital stays, higher medical costs, and a significant risk of complications.
Accordingly, it would be desirable to have a system and method for stabilizing the cervical spine which does not require the use of metal screws and rods.Q:
Filter already created filter in OpenGl ES 2.0
Currently my program is filtering a texture in openGL ES 2.0.
I have a project where the user clicks the button and all the already made filters are shown in a list view, when the user clicks a filter it’s added to the list (works as it should).
Now I want that when the user clicks the filter again the old filter is removed from the listview and the new one is added, I’m not sure if this can be done without deleting the filters and creating them again.
The filters are created like this :

How to Ease Overlapping Shapes
In AutoCAD, overlapping shapes often require a lot of work. For example, there may be several walls that are close together but, because of their arrangement, do not all touch. By using a workflow in which you hide or deselect the overlapping portion of the shape, you can make it easier to edit.
To do this, follow these steps:
Select all the overlapping walls in the drawing. Go to Tools > Workplane and activate the Workplane icon. Hide the workplane on the Design tab. On the Home tab, go to View > Arrange and deselect the Arrange 3D Layers option. Turn off Selection Snap on the Home tab. Activate the Move tool on the Home tab, and click and drag any of the overlapping walls.
The overlapping walls will appear
